We had a fun day two. It was Thanksgiving, but we didn’t have a big meal. We had turkey sandwiches!
We started off by eating a big breakfast at our hotel. After that, we hopped into the car to hike at Sweeney Ridge. The hike was beautiful. Once we were high enough, we could see the bay and a water reservoir. It was a hard hike because most of it was uphill. Luckily, on the way back, it was downhill.
Next, we went to Oracle headquarters because my dad used to work there. There was a sailboat that had won the America’s Cup. We took pictures there and read about the boat.
Next, we went to Facebook headquarters. My mom uses Facebook so much, so we took some pictures of her there. The building was very colorful.
Finally, we went to Stanford. They had cool buildings. We raced on the grass, and, obviously, my brother, John won. They even had a church there!
Before our race there.
After that, we went back to our hotel and watched movies. LOL!
For our Thanksgiving travels, we went to northern California.
On day one, we woke up at four in the morning. One hour later, we got into our car and headed to northern California. It was a pretty boring drive up the 5. Some of it was scenic, but we played video games.
Now here comes the actual fun part. We finally made it to the Computer History Museum. There was this cool demo of a self-driving car. Also, there were games like PacMan, Pong, and the first video game ever which was a space game. There was a place where you could listen to noises and a Wikipedia game. There was a room with the first computer. It was giant! I’m so glad that I can use a laptop. There was even an exhibit with robots. We also went to an IBM demonstration. My grandfather used to work for IBM.

Pong, an extremly old video game.
Here’s the self-driving car!
The programming game.
After that, we went to Google headquarters just to look around. They had yellow bicycles and some hiking trails. We took pictures at a Google truck which is right down there.
A Google truck.
The Google sign!
Here we are with the Google bikes!

Our final stop, before the hotel, was Apple headquarters. They even had a store there. In the store, we could test out iPads, iPhones and Apple watches. The only things I tested out were the iPhone X and iPhone 8. I didn’t really like the X because when I try to swipe to get home, it takes me a couple tries. That’s why I like the iPhone 8 more.
After that, we checked into our hotel. They had free dinner just for that day. Tacos! They even had beer and wine. Obviously, I’m not old enough to drink that, though.
In this post, I am going to tell you what you need to get your leopard gecko and how to take care of it. They are great pets for beginners.
It’s pretty simple on how to tame your gecko. For the first couple days, show it your hand. After that, start picking it up. If it squirms, do the hand things for a couple more days.
Food: mealworms, crickets, butter worms, etc.
Heat lamp or heat mat
Calcium powder and powder dish
Hideout (It’s better to get 2. One where the heat is and one where there’s no heat.)
Reptile carpet, sand, woodchips, etc.
These geckos are delicate little creatures. You have to be very careful with them. To pick them up, slide your hand under their belly. Let it examine you and crawl around. Don’t take it out to long. Ten to fifteen minutes is the most you should take it out per day. Always be careful of the tail because it stores all their fat and nutrition. Also, try not to scare, or it will drop its tail which is not good.
NEVER LIFT IT UP BY THE TAIL!
What do you do with your leopard gecko if you’re on vacation? If you are gone for one to four days, feed it before you leave, and fill up its bowl of water. For five days and more, you need someone to take care of it. To be courteous, clean its cage beforehand. Give them the food, and make a checklist on what they need to do.
Fun facts about leopard geckos
They are nocturnal (They sleep in the day and wake up at night.)
Unlike most lizards, they have personalities.
Their fat tails store their nutrition and fat.
After juvenile geckos shed, their pattern is always a little different.
The Great Depression lasted over ten years devastating the world! The stock market crash, also known as “Black Tuesday”, made people scared. A couple days later, the economy crashed, too. Everybody rushed to the bank to get their money out, but the bank didn’t have enough cash. Just like everybody, the banks had invested a lot of its money in stocks. Many of banks closed. In the USA, 25% of the population lost their jobs.
Now let’s get to the real question. How did The Great Depression start?
After World War I, the economy was booming! People took loans that they couldn’t pay back. No one cared. It was “The Roarin’ Twenties!” People bought new gadgets like washing machines and radios. They also bought stocks in companies. The prices got higher and higher as they were sold from man to man. People couldn’t pay back their loans, so the economy and the stock market crashed.
What are corn snakes?? Read this post to find out.
The corn snake is found all over North America and are very popular pet snakes. They live about six to eight years in the wild but can live about twenty-three years in captivity. Corn snakes are not venomous and are my favorite type of snake!! Corn snakes can grow up to six feet (182 centimeters)!
Like all snakes, corn snakes are carnivorous. They eat mice, small lizards, and frogs. Also, they may climb trees to eat unguarded bird eggs.
Corn snakes usually breed shortly after winter. They lay twelve to twenty-four eggs. It takes about ten weeks until the baby snakes come out. The young snakes use a scale called an egg tooth to slit the egg open. When they hatch, they are about five inches (SO CUTE!!!).
Corn snakes are great pets because they do not get big. Also, they are very tame so people love them! Another reason to get them as pets is that they are rated in the top 5 best snake pets. Lastly, all you have to feed them are mice and water.
Our dad took us to Angels stadium for Star Wars night. When we got into the stadium, they gave us a free rebel pilot rally monkey. Before the game started, CP-30, R2-D2, Darth Vader, and Kylo Ren marched onto the field!! Some girls shot Angels t-shirts into the crowd, too.
We had to wait forever for the game to begin. Finally, it started. The first innings were very short. Luckily, at the end, the Angels won!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! My brother, John, got on TV while some news reporters were talking about the game. When we got home, it was about 11:30 P.M. We were so tired.
The game was very fun, and I hope we go to Angels stadium again soon.
